Fo0d Equals Health!

I  hope and pray that all of you are safe during this time.  By now most of  us have been or know someone who has been impacted by this pandemic.   Now  this news - People of Color are Dying at a Higher Rate from this  Disease.  Why?  Could be where we live, where we work, and  more importantly - our underlying health conditions.  This is not new news -the topic of the  health disparities among African Americans and other people of color has been researched, documented, and discussed for many years.  But there is hope! We can increase our resistance to disease and improve vitality and health though careful eating.   Food Equals Health!   Our food should heal and nurture not weaken and kill.  *Fact:  A weakened immunity due to diet and lifestyle choices leaves us exposed and more vulnerable to viruses such as COVID 19.  *Fact:  A virus exposed to a healthy and well nourished body remains harmless or has a less impact to the host (our body).  Our vulnerability is directly related to the quality of our diet prior to being exposed. *Fact:  A virus adapts itself to the host (our body) and becomes dangerous and multiplies as a result of the host's disease promoting environment.

*excerpted from Super Immunity by Joel Fuhrman

Now that we know this virus and others on the horizon may be with us for a while we need to do all we can to improve our immunity through our diet and lifestyle choices.  This is within our control by choosing an whole food plant based diet, reducing stress, exercising, and practicing mindfulness and/or  meditation.
